An Alien Just Like You – Act I Scene 5

INT. IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER MONITOR – DAY

Mark presents an image of the “new” Zoie.

MARK
And here’s the appearance of our second main character.  Zoie’s background went through the biggest change.  I wanted to tie her into Zortic’s fandom a bit more.  Her background is also going to drive a lot of the upcoming stories.

I’m also hoping to do some “Blast Rocketron” prose fiction for the website.  I have a bit of background to him and his adventures that I’d love to develop.  I’d love to fill in the universe a bit more by introducing another hero, even if he is “fictional”.

Also, if you’ve had problems with the RSS feed, try it again.  I’ve updated it.

Once again it’s time to thank the official sponsor of the Zortic relaunch, Star Pirates!  I’ve been completely addicted to this game.  It’s amazing how much depth and flavor the game has while maintaining it’s simplicity.  And the opportunities for networking and community building are incredible.  Let’s face it, it’s a lot more fun to blast your friends in a space pirate game than it is in boring old MySpace and Facebook, isn’t it?

Submitted for your approval… the original Zortic suffered from a disturbing blur of pop culture reference and parody. Often it was confusing how much of the similarity of Zortic’s adventures to popular stories was noticed by the pointy eared trivia expert. In this new universe, I intend to keep the awareness of popular culture to Zortic’s television knowledge and keep the stories feeling more original and not risk the temptation of sinking into a parody of… The Twilight Zone…

An Alien Just Like You – Act I Scene 1

A large group of fans and media crowd around a large celebratory cake.

MARK
It’s finally time! Welcome to the premier of Z2.  Have a piece of cake!

The story’s going to be a bit slower, but don’t worry, just because I’ve gone a bit further back to peak at Zortic’s childhood, it won’t be long before we’re hooked up with the rest of the familiar faces.  Welcome to any new arrivals, I hope everyone enjoys the exciting new direction.
