I’m experimenting with a bit of a painterly style on my pad. Pretty sure I don’t have it down yet, but I’ll get there.
I’m getting a little bit sketchier with this week’s sketch. Taking advantage of my pad’s pressure sensitive stylus.
There’s also a story behind this sketch. Last week Eloisa was walking out of the gym and heard a kitten’s mew in the parking lot. She followed the sound to the engine block of a Versa. After a long attempt to coax out the kitten, the car owners showed up and said that the cat had been hiding in their car for a while and they weren’t able to get it out. After a long process, she finally got the cat out and we are currently fostering it until it’s ready to adopt. So, I figured she would be a perfect subject to sketch… If I could just get her to sit still…
I don’t usually deal with superheroes, but I’ve had a script for a superhero comic laying around for a long time. I’m not sure if my art style is right for superheros, so I’ve never done any actual artwork before now. Instead I’ve decided it was a good opportunity to play around with some character design.
So I introduce to you, the Golden Gauntlet and his sidekick Gauntlette. I still doubt I’ll do much more than doodle these guys, but if there are any heroic style artists out there that are interested in a collaboration….
