MARK
Today’s gag is based on some old floor plans of the original Star Trek’s Enterprise which included a bowling alley in the bottom floors. It was never in the series, but Scotty and McCoy probably used it more than Kirk and Spock.
lol, bowling alley that could have been quite fun to see. “Bones strikes again!” “I’m givin her all shes got but I just canna strike” XD
Oh yes. “A 7-10 split is most illogical, Captain”
I never could do a convincing Spock, which is why I never wrote any first generation fan fics. I wrote a Voyager one once. I adore Janeway. She was so cool. First female captain. You know, I never did find out what happened in that series. Life (Think Bobby of Life & Death) came by and hit me with a brick. By the time I healed I forgot all about STV. Sadly the fic died with my hard drive.
Isn’t the crewer’s right thumb located the wrong way?
Good catch! I was thinking that her palm was up, but it does make more sense to keep the palm down. Thanks for pointing that out.
Why is it that control panel manufacturers always rig their panels to explode whenever the thing being controlled does?
I figure it’s built into the system to force users to upgrade.
The bowling alley actually was mentioned once, by an ‘intoxicated’ crewman in The Naked Time. It then appeared on the deck plans, as Mark observed – something of an in-joke for the artists.
I had forgotten about the Naked Time reference. I’m going to have to rewatch that. Thanks for calling that out.
I doubt the bowling alley is going to come in handy, unless a strike from a bowling ball can puncture the Soykils’ ships where a laser(?)beam can’t. ^^;
I think Spock may have used the bowling alley 2 or 3 times. The 1st time as practice. Then bowled perfect games the next 2 times. Gave it up as he could only bowl a perfect game. Only bowlede after that when winning was a must. 😉
Somehow I can see Scotty and McCoy hanging out down there with a pair of matching bowling shirts and a couple of beers.
