Anfich is based slightly on Athelas from Lord of the Rings, and slightly on something else that will be revealed later. But it was also the basis for Melania which Splink uses to access the Krys system hard wired into his head.
That last panel is a Goon Show reference, from “The Dreaded Battered Pudding Hurler of Bexhill-on-Sea”. If intentional, then you are my hero. If not, may I recommend the Goons? I think you’d like them.
I have to confess to a lucky coincidence on that one. But I am certainly going to check that out! Thanks for the recommendation.
