As part of this musical storyline, I put out a call for guest strips of a “music video” nature. Stay tuned to see some of those guest strips.
And of course the Beatles. For all of you youngsters out there, the Beatles was the group that Paul McCartney was in before Wings… What do you mean who are the Wings?
I was always a big Monkees fan growing up, so it just seemed natural to name Zortic’s band the Spacees. Okay, so the Monkees had to share their nod with the Jetsons.
Doing a musical storyline also requires a good Partridge Family reference, obviously.
You knew I couldn’t get through a storyline about putting a band together without at least one good Blues Brothers parody.
I don’t consider myself very musically literate, but I certainly recognize the lyrics to the Dire Straits song “Money for Nothing”.
And just like that the gang has a goal destined to launch them into their next adventure.
See that, I had completely forgotten that Zortic had been knighted. Stay tuned to see how that translates into the new universe.
And the Wizard of Oz parody continues. Although the movie never showed if the Scarcrow was given clean underwear. Or if there was a version of the song “If I only some briefs” cut from the film.
