Classic Zortic
I confess to some artistic license here, the original Comic Con did not take place at the San Diego Convention Center, but it just seemed to iconic not to take advantage of it.

Of course, Melonpool never told Zortic that his visit with Roddenberry caused Star Trek to be cancelled.
Of course, as an alien, Zortic probably wouldn’t qualify for the draft, but it never hurts to play it safe.
Splink’s line is a take off of of Spock’s line from Star Trek, A Voyage Home. Spock probably would have said this if they went back a little further in time.
I had always sworn that I wasn’t going to have Zortic visit Earth, but the reason for doing it this time was just too perfect to ignore. Besides, as you’ll see, it’s not quite the Earth that we know.
I wrote this sequence shortly after surviving a string of 4 hurricanes in a row. So this was pretty much a case of putting that experience into outer space.
