I have to admit, I did have the Blazing Saddles song in my head during most of this finale. On another hand, I had completely forgotten the foreshadowing in Steve’s strip.
Like I said, it was supposed to be even more Generations oriented, but having the fans turn on each other gives the ending a great epic climax.
The Empire Strikes Back twist was Steve’s idea. Interesting fact, his idea was used because he beat me on a Star Trek trivia quiz (okay, not really).
Yeah, I’m really not sure what I was thinking when I came up with all of these crowd scenes for the finale.
The difference in the proportions of Steve and my art styles made it kind of tricky to judge the relative size of everyone, and I think it’s kind of fun to see how Steve and I handled id.
So as I was saying, in my original draft, Ralph was threatening to destroy the digital print of Star Wars unless Splink was turned over. This lead to a Sparticus parody where everyone from both strips dressed up like Splink.
