Yes, this was one of the first comics of 2001. Since it was so ripe for parody, I labeled 2001 as the “year of Zortic” and I have to say that some of my favorite stuff is from this year.

I got my first PADD-like thing in 2001, a Palm m515. I thought it was great! All the apps started instantly, and the on-screen keyboard was at least as good as the one on my phone today. It was even color, but I was sad when I found I couldn’t really set the background to black. Also the freebie tricorder app was monochrome. 🙂 I didn’t have another pocket device as useful as it was for over 10 years.
