In my original draft, Ralph threatened to destroy the Star Wars movie unless Splink was turned over to him.  To get at him, Zortic and Melonpool had to cross a bridge.  So their debate over who was more Kirk-like took a dramatic turn as they realized they were parodying Star Trek Generations.
