Being of Dutch heritage, I’m quite familiar with windmills. But for us, “tilting windmills” is much more similar to the sport of “outhouse tipping”.

Apparently someone needs to be brought up to speed as to the meaning of the word “tilt” when used in this context. 🙂
The inclusion/exclusion of the preposition ‘at’ makes a world of difference, here.
You don’t usually hear the term outside of Don Quixote. I took this as a good excuse to look up the origin of the phrase.
